Scope

These conditions describe use of the iBOTS website and participation in its academic training, community, and learning-support activities. Dr. Nicholas A. Del Grosso operates the website for the iBOTS project; his contact and address details and the project’s university affiliation appear in the legal notice. The organiser and any additional provider conditions for an offering are identified in its event and registration information.

Browsing the website does not create a training contract or signify acceptance of contractual terms. Where an offering requires agreement to specific conditions, those conditions must be made available before registration and incorporated through the relevant process.

Event information and registration

The event page provides dates, format, language, prerequisites, technical requirements, and any certification conditions. Read those details before registering. A registration link directs you to the named external service; submitting a request does not itself guarantee a place.

Eligibility, capacity, selection, confirmation, and any waiting-list arrangement depend on the actual offering. No universal first-come-first-served rule or confirmation deadline is promised. Ask the organiser if these details are unclear.

Fees, cancellation, and changes

Any charge must be expressly disclosed before registration; these website conditions introduce no fee or cancellation penalty. Travel, accommodation, and incidental arrangements should be clarified before making commitments.

Notify the organiser promptly if you cannot attend so a place can be released where possible. If the organiser must change or cancel an offering, affected participants should receive the information through the established contact channel. These conditions do not promise a minimum enrolment, fixed cancellation notice period, or funding for travel. Statutory and individually agreed rights remain unaffected.

Participation and certificates

Follow the event’s technical and safety instructions. Certificates are available only where the event says so and according to its published requirements; many existing events specify at least 75% attendance. A participation certificate does not imply an assessed qualification, accredited degree, or academic credit unless expressly stated.

Academic support concerns learning and research workflows. Decisions about using software or advice in a particular research setting remain subject to that setting’s scientific, ethical, and institutional requirements. Do not share confidential or personal research data without an appropriate arrangement.

Respectful participation and concerns

Treat participants and staff respectfully. Harassment, discrimination, intimidation, unauthorised recording, and disruptive conduct are unacceptable. Respect different backgrounds and levels of experience.

Report concerns to delgrosso.nick@uni-bonn.de. For concerns involving this contact or the university affiliation, you may also consult the university’s equity and diversity support channels, which explain their scope and available assistance. Share only information needed to explain the concern; confidentiality cannot be guaranteed beyond the requirements of a fair response or applicable duties.

Organisers may intervene to protect participants and restore the session, including stopping disruptive activity. Any further participation decision must follow the rules applicable to the offering, including university rules where relevant, and a fair process. These conditions create no automatic permanent exclusion rule.

Materials and participant work

Reuse is governed by each material’s express license, if any. Do not assume all website content or all teaching materials are openly licensed. Retain required attribution and third-party notices. Participants retain their rights in their own work; participation grants no blanket permission to publish it.

Photography, recording, and sharing other participants’ information require the relevant permissions and activity-specific arrangements. Attendance alone is not consent to publicity.

Privacy and access needs

Read the participation privacy information. Optional newsletter subscription and publicity consent must remain separate from participation. For accessibility assistance or an alternative format, contact the team and see the accessibility statement.

Liability and changes

Statutory liability applies. No €0 cap or blanket exclusion of liability for injury, intentional conduct, gross negligence, or other mandatory liability is imposed.

Updated website information applies prospectively. It does not retrospectively change an existing agreement or replace any consent or contractual acceptance required by law. German and English versions are intended to convey the same information; these conditions do not assert that German law universally requires the German translation to prevail.
